Doing Some Lines

Pinstriped Cortina

For a while I have been dying to put some personal touches on the Corty. Nothing to bold but something really fitting other than slapping on a sticker. Since the fresh motor went in I had a few days to spare before the first cruise.

The idea of getting a pinstriper to do there magic on it had grown on me recently. So I called in the fresh talented, ‘Lines By Luke’ to get started.

First off we spent a bit of time figuring out the font, sizing and design. After all its grandpas car and it has to be perfect for every one to see. I decided to get the name Phil, followed by a small picture of a garlic. There is a reason, being my grandpa’s nickname Phil Garlic.

He was given the name after a famous speedway rider when he was a young fella riding on his indian scout like a mad man haha.

It took about 4 hours all up from Luke arriving with all of his stuff, mapping out the lines and putting it all together. It happened in 3 stages, the word then the white of the garlic followed by the green. The highlights were done when it was dry. Its awesome to watch the super thin lines go on.

Now that its finished its so dope to see how something I wanted came out on the bodywork just as I had it in my mind. I love having something hand painted on the car. Authentic.

In the future its getting some more pinstriping in the engine bay and the interior.

If you find yourself driving behind a Phil Corty give me a toot.
